The State Social Insurance Agency (SSIA) warns of fraudulent emails being sent in the name of the SSIA. Fraudsters are sending residents fake SSIA decisions regarding a supposedly granted one-off energy subsidy and cost-of-living allowance. The SSIA urges the members of the public under no circumstances to click on any links contained in such decisions or to disclose personal or banking details.

The SSIA emphasises that no such support measures exist! The SSIA has neither issued nor published such decisions and never asks clients to authorise payments in this manner. The email address and telephone number provided in the fraudulent message are not the contact details of SSIA. These fraudulent messages misuse the brand identity of SSIA to build trust and trick people into disclosing their banking details.

If you receive such a fraudulent decision, do not click on any links or buttons contained within it, do not enter your personal identity number, online banking or Smart-ID authentication codes, and do not disclose your payment card details. Fraudsters can use this information to gain unauthorised access to your funds.

The State Social Insurance Agency (SSIA) urges members of the public to carefully check the sender’s address of any incoming emails and to look out for other signs of a fraudulent message.

Although fake messages sent in the name of the SSIA may seem credible, any demand of urgent action, or any request to click on links or enter your online banking credentials, Smart-ID passcodes or payment card details, signals that the message you have received is likely a scam.
