As of 9 October 2025, new rules under Regulation (EU) 2024/886 will apply to payments for services in euro.
When processing transfers, banks will also verify whether the beneficiary’s name matches the account number (IBAN). This may result in a situation where a service payment from the State Social Insurance Agency (SSAA) is not executed.
The SSAA invites clients who have not received their current payment to contact any SSAA customer service centre to clarify the reason and obtain information on the next steps.
The new rules have been introduced to reduce the risk of fraud and accidental payment errors.
